What makes Family Court Compass different?

How do I know which service is right for me?

Family Court Compass was created from firsthand experience navigating family court as a self-represented parent. We understand how overwhelming this process can feel — especially when children and your parental rights are at stake. Our goal is to help you feel prepared, supported, and not alone.

We work exclusively with non-marital family court matters, including:

  • Legitimation

  • Child support

  • Child support modifications

  • Custody-related modifications

  • Guardian ad Litem (GAL) processes

We do not handle divorce cases or matters involving parents who are legally married.

We offer a free 10-minute fit call to understand where you are in the process and recommend an appropriate support option.

Can you tell me what I should file or how to win my case?

Do you help fill out court forms?

Clients complete all forms themselves. We may provide commonly used, filing-clerk approved, court-appropriate forms and help you organize, format, and prepare them for submission — but we do not advise on how forms should be answered.

No. We cannot tell you what to file, what legal strategy to use, or predict court outcomes. We can help you understand the process, organize your information, and prepare your materials so you can make informed decisions on your own or with an attorney.

Can you go to court with me or speak to the judge for me?

No. We do not attend court hearings, communicate with judges on your behalf, or represent clients in any legal capacity.

Is this a replacement for an attorney?

No. Family Court Compass is not a substitute for legal representation. Our services are designed to support parents when hiring an attorney is not financially possible or when they choose to proceed on their own.

What if I need legal advice?

If your situation requires legal advice, we strongly encourage you to consult a licensed Georgia attorney. We are happy to help you organize your materials and prepare questions before meeting with a lawyer.

How can this help me if you don’t give legal advice?

Many parents struggle in family court not because they are wrong — but because they are unprepared, disorganized an unable to pay thousands for an attorney.

We help by:

  • Explaining what to expect procedurally

  • Organizing documents and evidence

  • Preparing court-ready binders and timelines

  • Helping you feel calm and confident walking into court

  • Making our services affordable

Preparation makes a difference.
