About Family Court Compass

Our Purpose

Our Mission

Family Court Compass was created from my firsthand experience navigating the family court system as a self-represented parent. Like many parents, the most overwhelming part for me was not the courtroom itself, but the paperwork, deadlines, financial disclosures, and constant uncertainty about what to expect — especially at a time when hiring an attorney was not financially possible.

Having lived through this process, I know how isolating and stressful it can feel to navigate family court on your own while protecting your children and advocate for your rights as a parent. At the time, I remember wishing I had found someone who had been through the same situation — someone who understood the process, the pressure, and the emotional weight that comes with it.

Through that experience, I learned just how critical organization, preparation, and understanding the court process truly are. My mission in creating Family Court Compass is to support parents who cannot afford full legal representation by providing educational guidance, structured checklists, and practical organizational tools that bring clarity, confidence, and calm during one of the most important and emotionally challenging times in a parent’s life — without the price-tag of providing legal advice or legal representation.

You do not have to pay thousands of dollars, and you do not have to do this alone.

What We Do

Who We Serve

Family Court Compass exists to support parents who are navigating family court without an attorney. We provide clarity, structure, and preparation for a process that often feels confusing and overwhelming. Our focus is on helping you understand what to expect, stay organized, and feel confident moving forward.

We offer educational guidance, procedural overviews, and organizational support for self-represented parents navigating family court. Our services include document organization, court-preparation checklists, timelines, and hearing preparation tools designed to help you understand the process and feel prepared.

Family Court Compass focuses exclusively on matters outside of marriage and divorce. We do not handle divorce cases. Our support is limited to non-marital family court matters such as legitimation, child support, child support modifications, custody-related modifications, and Guardian ad Litem (GAL) processes. We do not provide legal advice or legal representation — our role is to help clients prepare and organize, not to direct legal decisions.

We serve parents in Fulton County and across Georgia who cannot afford full legal representation or choose to represent themselves. Many of our clients are overwhelmed by paperwork, deadlines, and uncertainty. Family Court Compass is designed for un-married parents seeking calm, clarity, and confidence while navigating the Georgia family court system.
